Race Code Chess

Purpose

Race Code Chess (RCC) uses chess and draughts to bring people together, teach strategy and discipline, and open constructive conversation about UK race and ethnicity codes (IC1–IC7). Activities are community-led, peaceful, and educational.

Programmes

  • Weekly club meetups with open play and coaching.
  • Workshops for youth and adults on strategy and fair play.
  • Venue “Top 3 Players” write‑ups in Race Code Chess News format.
  • Exhibitions at community centres and public spaces.

Venues

  • Dugdale Arts Centre — Enfield.
  • Tottenham Hale station meet point, onward to venues.
  • Additional community venues by arrangement.

Membership

  • IC3/IC6 individuals can join the Members Club when live.
  • No fees on holding pages; see Funding & Fees policy when published.
  • Digital credentials will grant access to programmes and events.

How We Play

  • Respect, safety, and inclusion for all participants.
  • IC codes discussed as a framework for recognising diverse experiences.
  • Quiet games welcome at meeting points; formal events announced in advance.

Publishing

RCC publishes articles, standings, and event summaries. Where appropriate we include player profiles in the Broadgate format and contrast achievements with news contexts from players’ countries—always in a respectful, educational manner.
