Funding & Fees Policy

1) Fees

Certification and membership are free for IC3 Black and IC6 Mixed-Black entities and individuals. There are no application, verification, renewal, directory, badge, or challenge fees.

2) Funding Source

Costs are met from a ring-fenced Reparatory Justice Delivery Fund supported by donations, grants, and—when achieved—successful reparatory justice outcomes. Funds enter a common pot and are not linked to any individual claimant.

3) What We Do Not Do

• No percentage/commission from any individual’s claim.
• No claims-management or legal representation services.
• No fees charged to applicants, verifiers, or members.

4) Use of Funds

• Accredited verifier fees and audits.
• Infrastructure: registry, credential systems, accessibility, security.
• Community programmes and events (e.g., Race Code Chess) linked to certification/membership.

5) Low-Fund Safeguard

If the fund is low, IC3CSI will pause new certifications/onboarding and operate a public waiting list rather than introduce fees.

6) Governance & Transparency

• Simple, published annual accounts for the ring-fenced fund.
• Conflict-of-interest register for staff, directors, and verifiers.
• Independent oversight panel to review spending against purpose.

7) Donations

Donations to the Reparatory Justice Delivery Fund do not buy priority or status. Large donations are disclosed in aggregate bands. Donors have no influence over certification decisions.

8) Review

This policy is reviewed annually or on material change.
